It's recommended to install a separate Fog lamp high beam control switch instead of connecting fog lamp high beam wire with headlamp high beam wire. This way, factory wiring will remain untampered.
HID Fog lamp Projectors:
Pros -
1. Intense light, excellent penetration of light in bad weather and good throw and spread.
2. Available in 4200K, 4300K, 5000K, 5300K, 6000K color temperatures
3. Low Maintenance cost - Bulb and ballast can be easily replaced if it goes faulty
Cons -
1. More initial cost
2. Generates more heat than LED.
3. Requires slightly more power than LED
Bi-LED Fog lamp Projectors:
Pros -
1. Consumes less power and thus lesser heat generation
2. Available with Switchable color temperature option
3. Longer life expectancy
4. Water-proof Projector
Cons -
1. Crisp light - Light penetration suffers in fog and rain.
2. If LED goes faulty, entire unit needs to be replaced again. Single unit is not available for replacement.
3. Replacement requires realignment and original alignment is lost
